We should all be able to agree that the main goal of the Oregon School District should be to provide an exemplary education for all of our students. When problems arise in our school system they can best be solved by strong and open communication between all who have a stake in seeing our children well educated.
With her focus on communication and collaboration, Rae Vogeler makes an excellent candidate for school board. Rae plans to hold listening sessions while running for office and continuing while on the school board. I know she will work towards more inclusive decision making, and work to see that parents, teachers, staff, students, and community residents are represented on the various school board committees.
Rae is very well qualified to serve on the school board. She is a parent of two boys. Her first attended Oregon schools K-12 and is now in college and her second son is currently enrolled at Oregon High School. She has lived in Oregon for 17 years and volunteered in the Oregon Schools for 15 of those years. She has a 25-year career as a communication specialist. Having also run her own business throughout the years has also given her first-hand experience in managing funds.
As parents of four children who have gone on to college from Oregon High School and one who is currently there, we are convinced that Rae will be an honest, thoughtful, committed, and hardworking candidate who will always be willing to listen to all who care about the future of education in Oregon.
We urge you to vote for Rae Vogeler for Oregon School Board on April 2.
