I’m voting for Gwen Maitzen, Barb Feeney and Charles Uphoff in the upcoming School Board election.
They will bring a culture of respect and civility to the board; an attitude of respect for the expertise of the staff, and an accountability to the community. Additionally, many of these candidates actually have classroom experience, which the current Board does not have.
Gwen, Barb and Charlie have a wealth of educational experience. Gwen was a teacher for 25 years, 16 within the Oregon School District. Charles has also taught in the classroom and was on the School Board for eight years previously.
He’s been the director of a variety of programs and organizations aimed at supporting youth, families and education. Barb Feeney has been working as a planning and policy analyst.
The direction of Oregon School Board needs to be planful, collaborative and transparent as we move forward.
I believe the combination of these three candidates will emphasize collaboration with the school staff and the community in order to maximize the potential of every child in the school district, and use our resources wisely.
Vote Maitzen, Feeney and Uphoff. Child friendly, experienced and knowledgeable.
